5 Apps Every Blogger Needs

I’m always on the look out for apps that will help make blogging that little bit easier! So over the past few months I’ve discovered some super helpful apps that I thought I would share with you in the hope you might find them useful too! I have picked my favourites from a range of different categories such as social media, scheduling and editing apps, then picked my top 5!

First up and perhaps the most essential app that I have as a blogger is WordPress. I feel like this is a super obvious one but it is still so important. My blog used to be over on Blogger but I moved over in June and never looked back! It has so many amazing features that make it an incredibly useful blogging site. One of the best things about WordPress is the mobile app. It allows you to everything on the go, including checking stats, writing blog posts and replying to comments. This makes blogging so much easier as when I used Blogger I had to do everything on my Laptop which made accessing anything to do with my blog much harder. It is also amazing for interacting with other bloggers as you can easily follow, read and comment on each others blogs on the app or online!

I only discovered this app a few weeks ago and it has changed my blogging game! It can be downloaded for free but there are some optional in-app purchases. It allows you to create graphics for all sorts of social media, I use it for blog graphics and Pinnable pictures for Pinterest. It is so easy to use and there are loads of different options to choose from, both free and to buy. It can also be used for super simple tasks like adding text to an image as well so if, like me, your not the best with techy design things then this app will be a lifesaver for you! Check it out over at https://www.canva.com

I have been using Buffer for about a month now and it has massively improved my blog stats. I use it to schedule my tweets throughout the day so whether I am at work or just busy I can still promote my blog. I have the free version so can schedule 10 tweets per day at whatever times I would like. It can also be used for Instagram but I don’t as I do not post that often on Insta.  It’s so easy to use as every evening I just take some time to schedule my tweets for the next day and I have seen such an improvement in my blog engagement from doing so. So if you are struggling with engagement whilst at work or if you are just busy, I would definitely recommend this app!

This is the app that I use to edit all of my photos, for my blog and for Instagram. I love this app as it has so many different settings and options to make my photos the best they can be. I use this a lot as I don’t get very good lighting in my bedroom so my pictures are often pretty dark but with the settings on this app I can brighten my photos but in a way that they don’t look edited! It is also a free app and incredibly easy to use, a must for bloggers!

This app is my holy grail for blogging! Without Twitter I don’t think I would have any engagement with my blog at all! I would say it is probably my main source of traffic to my blog and the best way to engage with other bloggers. There are also loads of amazing blogger RT accounts (including my own #LovelyBlogsRT which you an check out here) that allow your posts to be spread and seen by more people. The blogging community on Twitter is fantastic! They are so supportive and helpful that I’d be lost without them! I’ve met so many bloggers who I can tweet or DM and they will get straight back to me and help me out! If you are not already using Twitter for your blog, you are well and truly missing out!

These are just a few of my favourite apps at the moment but I’d love to know ~ What are you essential blogging apps??

And as always thanks so much for reading!

Thanks for the info. I jus started my first blog. I’m currently in Grad school majoring in IT so I knew WordPress was the way to go so I did that. I recently discovered Canva as well and I have used it for everything from my logos to my posts. I will check the others out. Great post.
