Hey everyone and welcome to Blogmas day 13!
When I decided to take part in Blogmas this year I knew I wanted to team up with some other bloggers in posts so today my post features a few of my favourites! There is another collaborative post coming later in Blogmas so look forward to that one too! But in today’s post I thought it would be interesting to found out what Christmas means to different people, I hope you enjoy!
For me, Christmas is just about spending time with my family and friends and being able to make new memories with the people that matter most to me! But let’s hear from some other people as to what Christmas means to them!
To me? Memory making. It means having those little fragments of the day that you can recall year after year, ‘oh remember that year we got you this?’ Or ‘that year your dad fell asleep with a pork pie in his hand?’ I guess to me, Christmas is an amazing time capsule of trends, love, memories and much more. I love reminiscing and watching old videos of us all as kids – which I’m so honestly grateful to my parents for – seeing things and gasping ‘oh wow I remember that’. Seeing the love and energy come though as a family, that’s what, I guess, Christmas means to me… and this it the bit where you go ‘Awwwwwhhhh’
Christmas means many things to me. First, it means hope. During the Christmas season is when you see people being the kindest which gives me hope for our world and the world our children will live in. It means love because Christmas is all about loving others by gift giving and acts of service. It’s also an ending of a sort. It’s the last real holiday before the New Year so to me it’s almost the close of one year (I count New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day as the first holiday of the New Year). It means family and friends. It’s so much packed into one sort time period. Plus I love chilly weather when I’m able to bundle up under a blanket and read and drink drink!
Christmas means a lot to me I suffer with anxiety and Christmas is such a magical time of year it really helps my anxiety. I’m now 25 and still act like a little kid every year. It also means a lot because It’s so family oriented and everyone’s so happy around Christmas time x
Christmas to me is spending as much time as possible with family. My partners family don’t live near, so we try to extend Christmas and invite them down Boxing Day or as soon they can come down. As much as I like receiving gifts, and I’m very grateful for whatever I receive, I much prefer giving gifts. I put so much thought into what gifts I want to give people and seeing their faces when they open there gifts, that to me is Christmas. Now my little girl, Darcie, is getting older she’s taking much more notice of everything. She can now say ‘Santa’ and every time she sees Santa she goes ‘ooo Santa!’. Seeing her face light up is everything and gets me so emotional. We have a few Christmas traditions, we always watch loads of Christmas films and Christmas specials. We have advent calendars, family circle biscuits (not Christmas without them to me as I’ve grown up with them), we wear nice clothes on Christmas Day, we go to one of our local garden centres late night event (which you get a complementary glass of mulled wine and a mince pie at, so if you like those you’re winning!), and many more traditions! I love Christmas and I try to make each Christmas as special as the last xx
I absolutely loved all of your answers, thanks so much for taking part!! <3
