The Best Presents People Have Ever Received | Blogmas Day 18

Hey Everyone and welcome back to Blogmas!

Today I have a super exciting post! I have wanted to do a post like this for ages, where I ask some fellow bloggers abut the best gifts they have ever received. I was sent some lovely responses and I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I did!

I had to really think about my own answer to this question and I decided it was the Christmas of 2016 when I was raising money to take part in world Challenge where I as flying to India to experience the culture and help out in a local school. I was really struggling to raise all of the money but my family donated what they could so that I could seize the opportunity and go! It was the best experience of my life and without my families help I may not have been possible for me.

“My favourite present I’ve ever received was Westlife tickets in 2006, when I was 15. I had cheekily asked for them, but didn’t expect to get them due to their price. My mum had even said it wasn’t likely because they were too expensive. However, my family all contributed so I could go. So, much to my surprise, I opened them on Christmas morning. I was so shocked, I just sat there, and they were worried they’d bought the wrong thing. It was the first time I was going to see them live, and I was over the moon. Fangirling aside, it sums up my family and the way they rally round to make things special for me. I’m very lucky.”

The best Christmas present I ever received? Man, I’ll be honest I can’t think of ‘the best’, However! I can think of a present that all started my relationship with makeup. I was around 12 years old, and my parents purchased some catalogue store makeup box set for me after I spent most of that year nicking my moms stash which hadn’t been updated since the 80s. It came with 4 differing shades of lipstick, lip liners, eyeliners – it even had quad shadow compacts, AND, GASP! Shimmer dust! (Surely that was the beginnings of highlight?!) I absolutely adored it. I was a novice myself to makeup and it was on that Christmas Day that my dad actually taught me how to apply makeup. Yep, that’s right! My dad. He showed me how to apply eyeshadow ‘deeper shades for the crease, lighter on the lid’, he also warned me that blue shadow wouldn’t work so well with my hazel eyes, and he knew how to apply blusher to my face perfectly (he had a fair few sisters around him growing up!) So whilst I’m not sure it was my favourite of all time, it was quite possibly the most poignant present I had received in regards to my love-in with makeup as it stands today.

Mine was definitely getting my piano when I was about 11 or 12 (so 10ish years ago). I’d always wanted to play the piano and that Christmas my parents bought me one. I started taking lessons the next year and have been playing ever since.

Ahhhh I have so many! One of my favourite was a pack of professional pastels crayons, a kit aquarelle pencils and professional pencils when I was about 14 – I always loved drawing and creating art so I was over the moon when I opened those and I keep on using them to this day because they are just so amazing ! (I also love a massive blanket I had two years ago, a candle that smells like biscuits and money to go to DisneyLand).

I received a white Fiat 500 as an early Christmas present last year and that was incredible as my parents always told me that I would be buying my own car so it was the biggest surprise when I was taken to CarGiant to pick out a car in November!!! I love it and it is so me! It is insane when you get a car because it is such a huge present! Xx
