University Room Tour | Student Halls

Hi everyone and welcome back to my blog!

Today is a super exciting post and one I’ve been wanting to do since I moved to university. I love reading blog posts and watching YouTube videos about decorating university rooms as well as room tours! So today I thought it might be fun to show you around my new uni room and how I decided to decorate it!

This is the view when you first walk into my room! It’s pretty simple but quite a decent size! When I arrived there was a bed, leather chair, full-length mirror, desk, desk chair, shelves, drawers and a wardrobe. I was quite impressed as I didn’t think I would get this much stuff in my room. There are also some hooks on the wall for coats and bags which is super handy. There’s no colour in the room at all which I was really happy about, as it meant I could do whatever I wanted with the room!

This is the view from the opposite end of the room as you can see my door, wardrobe and chair. I was very impressed by the size of the wardrobe as I thought it was going to be much smaller, but there is plenty of room for all of my things! It’s also really handy that the wardrobe isn’t too tall as I can store things on top ad out of the way! They didn’t provide hangers so I just bought a pack of 20 for a reasonable price in Primark.

As you can see, my bed is just a single but I don’t mind as that’s all I have at home so I’m used to it anyway! I bought these pretty marble bedsheets from ASDA and I love them! My washing basket is also marble to match and I got that from Primark. They are good quality and really affordable too! My blanket is from Wilko and is so soft and perfect as uni halls are always FREEZING! I then just surrounded my bed with fairly lights to brighten it up a little bit and I love the look of it!

At the top of my bed I just have some cute pictures and some little fake plants to add a bit of colour to my room! I also used a command hook to put my dream catcher on the wall above my bed. These hooks are amazing for student accommodation as you aren’t allowed to put holes in the wall or leave marks so these ensure that nothing will be left behind when they are removed at the end of the year!

On my windowsill I just have my little cactuses from home as well as my fake flowers and wooden R. I think this looks really quite and fits perfectly with the vide of my room. The natural lighting is also perfect for taking blog pics which I am very happy about!

This is my favourite part of my room! I had so much fun decorating it and deciding where things should go!

Finally I have my on-suite. Not very exciting at all but I thought I’d show you anyway! I just bought some storage baskets to keep all of my toiletries together and out of the way in my bathroom.

I do also have a shared kitchen although I have no pictures of it! I kinda thought it would be weird if my flatmates walked into the kitchen to see me with my big camera taking photos of it? I don’t think I’m ready to explain that I have a blog all about my life!

(Pin me!!)

Have you lived in student halls? How have you decorated your room? Let me know!

As always, thanks for reading!

I love this post! I’ve had a “my room tour” sitting in my drafts since September and you’ve really made me want to FINALLY post it. I love having a nosy around other people’s rooms and I love what you’ve done. I’ve definitely got desk-envy as yours is so spacious and I love your cute little windowsill. You’ve really made halls a home!

    Love, Soph x
